Security and privacy

Security the families you serve can trust.

You are entrusted with the most personal moments in a family's life. Kin Ceremony treats that responsibility as the product's first job — and explains how in plain language.

Each funeral home is walled off

Your cases, families, staff, and files belong to your organisation only. Isolation is enforced by row-level security in the database itself, so even a guessed link to another firm's case returns nothing.

Families see only their own case

Every family receives a long, random private link. It opens only that family's case, and the primary contact decides which relatives may help. Links can be revoked and reissued by the funeral home at any time.

Photographs live in private storage

Uploads are stored in private, encrypted buckets and served through short-lived signed links. There is no public folder of family photos, ever.

Roles are kept out of reach

Staff roles are stored in a separate, server-controlled table. A user cannot promote themselves by editing a profile, and only invited members can sign in to a workspace.

A full audit trail

Approvals, status changes, and significant edits are recorded with who did it, when, and which version — so nothing goes to print unaccounted for.

AI that only uses your facts

Obituary, playlist, and program drafts are generated from information the family and staff entered. Nothing is invented, every draft is labelled, and a human approves before print.

Deletion you control

An administrator can delete a case at any moment — for example if a family chooses another provider — removing the intake, uploads, messages, and drafts.

Encryption everywhere

All traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS on kinceremony.com, and data is encrypted at rest by our hosting provider.

Your data, your decisions

Funeral homes own their records.

Case data can be exported, cases can be deleted, and closing a workspace removes its data in line with our Privacy Policy. Questions about a specific requirement? Contact us and we will answer directly.
