Our story

Funeral homes deserve software as thoughtful as the work they do.

Kin Ceremony began with a simple observation from the arrangement room: the hardest part of a service is rarely the ceremony itself. It is the two weeks of scattered texts, emailed photographs, USB drives, handwritten song lists, and last-minute program revisions that happen in between — at exactly the moment a family has the least capacity for any of it.

We built one calm, private workspace where a director opens a case, a family shares what matters at their own pace, and a heritage-quality program is drafted, approved, and printed on time. The name reflects the two things it holds together: kin, and ceremony.

What we believe

Four principles behind every screen.

Families are grieving, not filling out forms

Every question in the portal is written to be answered at a kitchen table at midnight. We ask once, in the right order, and never make a family repeat themselves.

Directors should direct

Chasing photographs and song titles is not what a funeral director trained for. The system does the chasing so the director can be present.

Nothing goes to print unapproved

Every obituary, program, and playlist is drafted from real family facts, labelled as a draft, and approved by both the funeral home and the family before it is final.

Privacy is the product

One funeral home can never see another's cases. One family can never see another's memories. That isolation is enforced at the database, not just in the interface.
